Training, New Team, and Food

A very good weekend.  Biked 129 miles over two days with Quentin, Nate and Julie.  Nate is in fine form.  Putting in the base miles. Sunday seemed much harder than Saturday.  

I rather be skiing in early February and training for the Birkie.  I guess my training will consist of long bike rides and hard runs.  I will at least come into the Birkie with some decent endurance.  

I joined the Big Ring Flyers this year.  This will be the first time since 1994 that I will not be wearing Team Nordik colors for races. I truly enjoyed my time with Team Nordik because they are like family to me.  I am not using past tense because they all are great friends and looking forward for future rides with them. The Big Ring Flyers goals and schedule match my own.  This will be a fun year to travel, learn and race with several team members.  Oddly enough race season is right around the corner.

I love food.  The best thing is making a nice healthy salad on a Monday that will last a couple of days.  Nothing like fresh vegetables for hard training.
